What wonderful treats await the younger audience at this year’s Pattern Festival? What delights and surprises will be on offer? As the Pattern Festival is a family-friendly Festival, our younger audience forms an integral part of the Festival programme each year...

WHERE TO START?

Where to start? ... Puppet Shows, Flea Circus, Sandcastle and Busking Competitions, Art and Fancy Dress Competitions, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Kids’ Disco, Football Blitzes, Circus Skills, Fun Car Wash, Treasure Hunt, ‘Irish History Live’ Show, Fun Games on the Beach, Hip Hop Dancing, Children’s Storytelling, Fun Putting Competition, Basketball Games, Agri Aware Kids’ Interactive Mobile Farm – all of these have featured in Pattern Festivals past... the only problem for the kids (and parents!) is how to fit everything in as they dash from one event to another!

FANCY DRESS AND PARADE

One of the Festival highlights each year is the Children’s Fancy Dress Competition and Parade. The wonderfully colourful parade of enthusiastic children (and parents!) in their fancy dress attire as they parade in all their colourful splendour to the Festival Stage is a delight to watch and catches the imagination of all Festival goers, both young and old. In 2009, 2010 & 2011 Perkie Bear paid a visit to see the children, leading the parade in swashbuckling form!!
