Thursday Night

altWe had some lovely events on the Thursday night of the Festival warm-up week (21 July) and you can see a small selection of photos from these events on our Photos page.

The Ardmore Grange Heritage Group organised a fantastic exhibition of photographs and other memorabilia from bygone days in Halla Dhéagláin. The wide range of quality material on display must have taken many hours to prepare and hundreds of interested people came through the doors to wander amongst the memories and recall days of yore. The Group also had a fabulous array of postcards on sale depicting scenes from the Ardmore of yesteryear. Many thanks to the Ardmore Grange Heritage Group for putting on a fantastic display of Ardmore in Pictures and Print – a fitting warm up to this year’s Festival.

Further up the hill in the Cliff House Hotel, author Cathy Kelly was in conversation with Liz Reddy from WLR FM about her life and times and what it takes to be a successful author in modern day Ireland. The audience listened in fascination as Cathy recounted how she went from being a tabloid journalist to one of Ireland’s most successful female authors. Cathy very obligingly took a range of questions from the audience and happily posed for photos and chatted away as she autographed copies of her books, provided by Festival sponsors, Easons Dungarvan.

Have a look at our photos section of a selection of photos from these two fabulous events.
