What a beautiful evening it was in Ardmore last evening (1st June) as the crowds turned out for our annual FUNdraising Sponsored Walk. Some 200 people of all ages came out to stroll around the village, enjoying the fabulous views and glorious sunshine on a lovely summer’s evening.
Despite a minor traffic jam at the top of the street at the beginning of the walk (the traffic lights were against us as we queued behind the bus!), we soon got going on a brisk walk up Tower Hill and across the Rocky Road, and onwards and upwards to the New Line. Despite the temptation to stop and sit down to admire the panoramic view across Ardmore Bay, the crowds strode on, past the musical entertainment at Brockies and onwards towards the Round Tower. It was downhill from then on, as we passed the Tower and headed back to the Main Street and some welcome refreshments at the ICA Hall.
